RCN condemn NMC fee rise proposal
Published: 22 June 2012
Last week the RCN sent an email to all members asking them to complete a short survey about their views on proposals by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to increase their registration fee from £76 to £120, an unprecedented 58% rise.
The response so far has been outstanding with over 40,000 members telling us what they think. However, we are aiming to engage with an even greater proportion of our membership. As the more of you that fill in the survey, the stronger the possible evidence we can give to the NMC against the proposed hike.
This survey asks registered nurses whether they agree with the increase, whether or not they think the Government should contribute to the running of the NMC and if members think the NMC should still be expected to pay over £800,000 towards the running of the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence.
So have your say, the RCN survey closes on 31 July.
