Unions welcome Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust board decision to withdraw from the pay cartel

Unions who represent staff working at Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust have welcomed the news that the trust board have decided to withdraw from the pay cartel (South west pay, terms and conditions consortium). 

Dorothy Fogg, Chair of the Health Officers Forum said:

“This is a very positive move by Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. Jac Kelly, Chief Executive, Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, has issued a strong statement to staff assuring them that whatever the future of the pay cartel that the trust will no longer be a part of it.” 

“We believe that this will be welcomed by staff as it is a first step to re-building trust and confidence. Joint unions welcome the opportunity this now poses to return to open and transparent partnership working. This can only be good for patient care.”
