Applications sought for pensions group
Published: 11 December 2012
The Royal College of Nursing is looking for members to join a task and finish group which will focus on the key aspect of the proposed changes to the NHS pension scheme.
Nominations are sought from RCN members who are or have been employed in the NHS, especially those with a professional interest in this area, such as occupational health practitioners. They will form a task and finish group to support and inform the RCN’s contribution to the Working Longer Review, which includes representatives from NHS Employers, trade unions and the Department of Health.
The work of the group will highlight the impact of working beyond 60 but also identify good employment and pensions practice for those who choose to work longer.
The RCN opposes the extension of the pension age to 68 but at the same time, increasing numbers of RCN members are seeking later retirement.
Applications close 19 December 2012. For more information visit www.rcn.org.uk/appointments
