Government launches consultation on workplace dispute

Published: 12 April 2007

The department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has launched a consultation on resolving disputes in the workplace called 'Success at Work'.

The review covers England, Wales and Scotland. A separate review will also take place in Nothern Ireland.

The consultation looks at the current procedures for resolving disputes, which the RCN believes are not working well. The current arrangements have increased the use of 'formal' procedures to resolve issues issues in the workplace.

Generally the RCN is likely to be supportive of changes to the current arrangements. If you would like to input into the RCN's response, please send your comments to Gerry O'Dwyer (email: gerry.o'dwyer@rcn.org.uk), the RCN's Senior Employment Advisor, by 20 June 2007.

To respond to the consultation in a personal capacity, please do so by letter or through the DTI website by 20 June.

Information about the consultation can be found at: http://www.dti.gov.uk/consultations
