Learn to manage your stress

Published: 03 November 2008

A new stress management learning opportunity is now available in the “personal development” section on the RCN Learning Zone. Containing information on stress and stress management for individuals and organisations, the resource is underpinned with insights into the theory behind stress.

The resource has been launched in time for National Stress Awareness Day (NSAD) which takes place on 05 November 2008. The NSAD campaign, Don’t Worry - Be Happy! develops the theme that stress is damaging. The campaign aims to encourage people to reduce the habit of worrying by taking positive actions.

More information for nurses on managing stress can be found in the RCN publication: Managing your stress. A guide for nurses (PDF 346KB) [How to access PDF files]. This guide contains advice on reducing and managing stress, the symptoms of stress, legal guidance and guidance on what employers should be doing.
