Mary Seacole appeal website

The redesigned Mary Seacole appeal website is now available to view. The website contains details about the Mary Seacole memorial statue appeal and artists who have been shortlisted to create Mary's statue. The chosen artists will be announced on 13 May 2009.
It is hoped that the Mary Seacole memorial will:
- capture the spirit of Mary and reflect her great achievements
- remind the public of the importance of the nursing profession
- remind the public of Britain's greatest black heroine who gave her life's work in support of others.

Members of the public can also view the artists initial proposals until the 8 May 2009 in the windows of Coutts Bank, 440 Strand, London - and submit their comments to: contact@maryseacoleappeal.org.uk.
