Mary Seacole Awards 2008 - closing date extended

Nurses, midwives and health visitors in England are invited to participate in the prestigious Mary Seacole Awards programme for 2008/09.
The closing date for applications for these awards has now been extended to 14th May 2008.
These awards are made in honour of Mary and in recognition of her leadership, her visionary approach to diversity, and her outstanding contribution to nursing.
There are two award programmes:
- The Mary Seacole Leadership Awards are worth up to £12,500 each and emphasise Mary Seacole’s pioneering role in leadership, and
- The Mary Seacole Development Awards are worth £6,250 each and provide opportunities for nurses, midwives and health visitors in England to make positive and lasting contributions that promote high quality patient/client-focused care and will enable winners to undertake a project, or other educational/ development activity, that benefits the health needs of people from black and minority ethnic communities.
