New Chief Executive of the Care Quality Commission

Cynthia Bower has been appointed as Chief Executive of the Care Quality Commission and will start in her role in August 2008.
The Health and Social Care Act 2008 established the Care Quality Commission and was granted Royal Assent on 21 July 2008. It is expected that the Care Quality Commission will take up regulatory responsibilities from April 2009.
