New Council member for RCN South East region

Sylvia Simmons, a clinical nurse manager in a GP out-of-hours service, has been elected as RCN Council member for the South East region. She will take up office after this year’s annual general meeting, which takes place on 17 October.

Sylvia has more than 40 years experience of nursing. She has been an RCN steward for 18 years and during that time has been an active branch member, holding various branch executive positions.

She has also spent two separate periods on secondment as an assistant officer in the RCN’s Winchester office, and has served as a South East regional board member.
