New factsheets on commissioning

A series of new factsheets is being published to help RCN members understand the architecture of the new NHS commissioning system.
The first two, RCN fact sheet on clinical senates and strategic clinical networks (PDF 42.8KB) and RCN fact sheet on health and wellbeing boards (PDF 48.8KB) [see how to access PDF files] are now available on the RCN website.
Under reforms outlined in the Government's Health and Social Care Act, clinical commissioning groups will take over responsibility for commissioning the majority of NHS services in England, with primary care trusts due to be abolished by April 2013.
