NHS leadership awards - nominate your colleagues
Published: 17 April 2009
RCN members in England are being encouraged to nominate their peers for the new NHS leadership awards which recognise outstanding leaders across England at every level.
It would be wonderful to see a public acknowledgement for the fantastic work being carried out by RCN members on a daily basis. The awards are open to everyone working for, or on behalf of the NHS in England. Nominations are peer-to-peer, so NHS staff may nominate someone who does a similar job. For example, a ward sister may nominate another ward sister or matron.
Judges for this prestigious award include the RCN Chief Executive & General Secretary, Dr Peter Carter. It is important that nursing is well represented and it would be great to see RCN members getting the recognition they deserve. If you think one of your peers has shown excellent leadership skills, why not nominate them?
The closing date for nominations has been extended to Friday 29 May 2009 and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on 25 November 2009.
