NHS mileage consultation – change of closing date in England

The six-week consultation on NHS mileage allowance arrangements with all the NHS unions and employers has been extended in England and will now close on 8 May 2009. If you are based in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland the closing date for the time being remains 24 April 2009. However, it is expected this date will also be extended to 8 May 2009 and we will keep you informed.

The consultation is not a new agreement at this stage but it is vitally important that as many people as possible engage in these discussions at local level. Joint responses from NHS employers and staff are encouraged.
