Opportunity to campaign on global child survival
Published: 06 August 2012
The Royal College of Nursing is encouraging members passionate about global health to apply for campaigning and advocacy roles with the charity, Save the Children.
Members selected will participate in Save the Children’s campaign for child survival and in return for a one-year commitment to campaign with Save the Children and its partners for approximately one day per month, successful candidates will receive:
- a one-week fact-finding trip abroad in October or November 2012
- training on campaigning and advocacy
- dedicated support for follow-up activities such as local media work, talks and blogs
- the opportunity to develop relationships with health workers from other countries and to support them in campaigning visits to the UK.
Selection takes place in early September. Interested RCN members should email Brie O’Keefe (b.okeefe@savethechildren.org.uk) with a brief biography using the subject header "Health Worker Campaigners".
