Patient care must be protected, says RCN

Efficiency savings must not come at the expense of patient care, the Royal College of Nursing has said.
The comments came as a King’s Fund report found that a third of NHS finance directors believe the quality of patient care had declined over the past year.
RCN Chief Executive & General Secretary Dr Peter Carter said: ““We know that demands on the health service are increasing and becoming more complex. We cannot continue to ignore the warnings about the detrimental effects of increasing financial pressure.”
