Government pension proposals explained in new RCN film
Published: 26 January 2012
The RCN has released a new film explaining the Government’s final proposals to the NHS pension scheme and the timetable for members to vote on whether they want the RCN to accept or reject the plans.
Voting papers will be sent out next week and members have until 4pm on 27 February to return them. Information being sent with the voting papers explains that votes can be cast in three ways: by post, by phone and online.
In the film, Gerry O’Dwyer, RCN Senior Employment Relations Adviser, gives details of the timescales involved and emphasises the importance of members having their say. He outlines the implications of the Government’s proposals for those in the NHS pension scheme, depending on how many years they are from their normal pension age.
Look out for your voting papers arriving during the week commencing 30 January, and remember to vote by 4pm on 27 February.
