Professional development bursaries now open

Published: 11 September 2013

RCN FoundationDon’t miss this opportunity to secure up to £5,000 in funding for your learning and development activity, available through the RCN Foundation Professional Bursary Scheme.

Dinah Cox, Head of the RCN Foundation says: “Learning and development activities are vital to improving patient care and nursing practice; however they also bring with them a number of costs, such as course fees, travel, research and project development. We hope these bursaries will enable more members of the nursing team to fulfil their personal development ambitions.”

Open to nurses, midwives and health care practitioners across the UK, the funding can be used for various activities including postgraduate study or professional short courses.  Activities must relate to primary care nursing or the care of people with long-term and chronic conditions.

Previous award winner, Donna Little, Senior Sister at the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust, added. “It has been an honour to fly the flag for the RCN Foundation. I have successfully achieved a PGDip in nursing with their funding assistance for the last two years.”

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 23 October 2013. Apply for your bursary today through the RCN Foundation website.
