RCN achieves IiP gold success
Published: 10 July 2012
The Royal College of Nursing has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People (IiP) gold standard. Only three per cent of organisations across the UK achieve this, the highest form of accreditation available from IiP.
RCN Chief Executive Dr Peter Carter said he was “delighted” with the achievement.
“The gold standard is only given to those organisations that can demonstrate excellence in developing and supporting their staff,” he said. “We needed to provide evidence of meeting more than 165 requirements, which included commitment to our values, personal development and social responsibility.
“Our staff are absolutely committed to giving the best possible service to our members and this is further evidence that the RCN is an outstanding place to work.”
The award was achieved following a rigorous assessment that included interviews with more than 80 staff. The RCN also received special recognition for its health and wellbeing programme.
