RCN again makes prestigious top employers list

The Royal College of Nursing has been judged one of the best UK employers in the annual Sunday Times Best Companies list for the third year running, as well as winning a special award for staff wellbeing. The RCN has been awarded its highest ever place of 14th in the top 100 not-for-profit organisations to work for, and is the highest placed trade union or professional body.
As well as making the top 20, the RCN was one of six exceptional companies to receive a special award, winning “Best for Wellbeing”. The RCN’s “comprehensive health and wellness programme” was praised, along with its regular themed health initiatives and excellent balance between work and home life. Other achievements include the ninth highest score for employees “loving where they work”.
Dr Peter Carter, Chief Executive & General Secretary of the RCN, said: "All of our staff should be proud to make this prestigious list for the third year in a row, as it really is down to their hard work and dedication.
“Everyone at the RCN is continually striving to provide our members with the best possible service, and we believe policies such as understanding the importance of health and wellbeing help them to achieve that.
"We are proud of the policies that we pursue as an employer, and we aim to set an example to health care organisations where our members work. I would like to thank all our staff for this achievement, and we will continue looking for ways to make the RCN an excellent organisation for its employees as well as its members."
