RCN Council election results

The results of the election of health practitioner and student members of RCN Council have been announced by the Royal College of Nursing.
Health care assistants or assistant practitioners will sit on RCN Council for the first time as a result of the health practitioner election. Brenda McIlmurray from Northern Ireland received the highest number of votes and will sit on Council until 2015. David Cardwell from the South West region received the second highest number of votes and will sit on Council until 2013.

In the student election, Claire Jeeves from the South West region received the highest number of votes and will sit on Council until 2014. Gary Stockwell from the London region received the second highest number of votes and will sit on Council until 2013.

All four successful candidates will begin their terms of office at the close of the RCN annual general meeting on 17 October.
