RCN delivers on vulnerable adults work promised at Congress
Published: 27 August 2008
The Royal College of Nursing has joined forces with Educare to develop educational support materials for vulnerable adults. This follows work undertaken at Congress 2008 where resolution 19 called for training in this area to be strengthened.
The resolution, which was passed with a vote of over 98%, showed the RCN’s commitment to raising awareness on the issue of the protection of vulnerable adults (POVA) and highlighted the College’s support for the drive for statutory POVA training for all healthcare professionals.
The new programme covers a range of issues surrounding adult abuse and can be taken in a paper or online format. A discounted rate has been secured for RCN members and there will be an opportunity for participating members to evaluate the training programme.
