RCN elections – don’t forget to vote

RCN members are being encouraged to use their vote in the forthcoming elections for RCN President.
Nominations for election have closed and members are being asked to choose between Maura Buchanan, Yvonne Dyer and Alison Twycross. Deputy President, Bobbie Chadwick was elected unopposed for a second term.
Ballot papers will be sent to all RCN members eligible to vote from 15 August 2008. The closing date is midday on Monday September 15 2008.
Student members are also urged to vote in the elections for student member of Council and the Association of Nursing Students (ANS). There are two nominations for the ANS seat in Wales - Mark Perry and Claire Evans. These candidates are also both standing in the election for student member of Council.
Philip Schneider, (East Midlands), Susan Tiry-Ward (Eastern) and Damian Ronksley (Yorkshire and the Humber) have all been elected unopposed to their ANS seats.
The results of all forthcoming elections will be announced on 16 September 2008.
