RCN launches general election campaign website

Published: 27 January 2010

The Royal College of Nursing has today launched a new 2010 general election campaign website. This is intended to put power in the hands of nurses by providing new ways of interacting with politicians and the media.

The interactive website gives RCN members and non-members the opportunity to add their voice to the debate around the next government’s health polices and become part of the largest online community of nurses in the UK.

RCN Chief Executive & General Secretary Dr Peter Carter says:

“The RCN is now committed to placing power in the hands of nurses on the web. While there are around 1,800 members of the nursing family in each constituency, the online constituency knows no bounds. I encourage all nurses to get involved, be active and join us online to help shape the future health landscape.”

By signing up to the website, supporters can demonstrate their backing for the RCN’s election priorities and share information with their colleagues and friends. News will be constantly updated and supporters will be given the opportunity to interact by uploading photographs and stories.

Sign up to the Nursing Counts website today.
