RCN launches new technology guides
Published: 24 May 2012
The Royal College of Nursing has published five new multimedia guides to help nursing staff utilise technology to complement their clinical practice.
The RCN says that people expect health care to meet their needs quickly and be tailored to their requirements and technology helps to deliver these expectations, putting the power back in the hands of the patient.
Writing in the foreward of Using Technology to Complement Nursing Practice, RCN Chief Executive & General Secretary Dr Peter Carter says: “The RCN firmly believes that making use of modern technologies is the future of health care and has already had marked benefits for numerous patients.”
The publications cover telephone advice lines (publication code 004 229), text messaging (publication code 004 230), websites (publication code 004 231) and telehealth monitoring (publication code 004 232) and an overarching guide (publication code 004 228).
