RCN legal team wins praise

The outstanding achievements of the RCN’s legal services team have been recognised by the judges of a prestigious award.

The team was “highly commended” in the excellence in client care category.

The team has been consistently successful in supporting members and winning cases on their behalf. For example, last year in England and Wales, the RCN recovered more than £4 million in compensation for members, with compensation wins in Scotland and Northern Ireland running into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

In 80 per cent of regulatory cases referred to the Nursing and Midwifery Council where members were represented by RCN lawyers, it was found there was no case to answer or no sanction given.

The Law Society's Excellence Awards reward the most outstanding practitioners in the legal profession and are open to the entire legal sector.
