RCN members discuss leadership in mental health

Health care staff from across the UK heard how the RCN clinical leadership programme can be used in a mental health setting at a conference in RCN headquarters last week.

Delegates attending The only constant is change mental health clinical leadership conference listened to Kim Goddard, Director of Nursing and Governance at a London Mental HealthTrust as she spoke about how the RCN clinical leadership programme fits strategically into an organisation's development strategy.

RCN Mental Health Adviser, Ian Hulatt, who also spoke at the conference, said:

"This was a really excellent opportunity to hear how the clinical leadership programme is providing a platform to progress not only clinical leadership , but also the standard of care received by users of the various services showcased"

The conference also provided a forum for mental health practitioners to discuss the issues and challenges they face as leaders.
