Royal College of Nursing members took part in the glittering opening ceremony as the London Olympics began last weekend.
In a performance celebrating the role of the NHS in British society, RCN members joined other health care staff in a dance routine, thrilling the crowd in the Olympic stadium and a global television audience of millions.
The great work of the staff of Great Ormond Street Hospital was a central theme in the event, which included illuminated beds spelling out the words "NHS" and "GOSH" (Great Ormond Street Hospital) in LED lights.
