The Royal College of Nursing has received a letter from the patron, HM Queen Elizabeth II, thanking RCN members for their continuing loyalty and support.

Last week, the RCN wrote to the Queen to congratulate her on her jubilee celebrations.

In a letter of response addressed to the RCN Chair of Council Kath McCourt, the Queen said she was interested to learn the RCN would be visiting nurses who joined the College in 1952 and expressed her thanks and “warmest good wishes” for an enjoyable Diamond Jubilee year.

The Royal College of Nursing is marking the Queen’s jubilee by honouring the “diamond nurses” who joined the College 60 years ago.
