RCN set to campaign for retired people
Published: 04 April 2013
The Royal College of Nursing has joined the National Pensioners Convention (NPC), an organisation that campaigns for the rights of retired people and represents the interests of pensioners across a range of political, social and health issues.
Through membership of the NPC, the RCN will harness the talents of retired members to ensure the voice of pensioners and the voice of nursing is heard on a wide range of issues.
Eligible RCN members have been invited to join the RCN’s new Retired Members Network and members will be sought to represent the RCN's retired members on the NPC National Council later his year.
The network is open to all RCN members aged 55 and above in receipt of a state or occupational pension.
To join the network, RCN members should visit www.rcn.org.uk/myrcn and tick the box for “Retired Members Network” in “My forums” or telephone RCN Direct on 0345 772 6100.
