The Royal College of Nursing is holding elections for two student members of RCN Council, following Gemma Selby’s announcement that she has decided to step down from her position as Student Member of Council.

The term of office for one seat will run from the close of the RCN Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 17 October this year until 31 December 2013. The term of office for the second seat will run from the close of the AGM until 31 December 2014. The person with the highest number of votes will have the longer term of office.

Following Gemma’s decision to stand down, Stuart Young, the other outgoing student Council member and Chair of the RCN Students Committee, thanked Gemma for her work as a member of Council and  the Students’ Committee and said the College was grateful for her contribution.

Nominations for the two positions close at 4.30pm on 2 July. Read more in Student Member of Council Election 2012.
