RCN to celebrate its 'diamond nurses'

The Royal College of Nursing is marking the Queen’s jubilee by honouring the “diamond nurses” who joined the College 60 years ago.

In a letter to Buckingham Palace, the College said it wanted to visit the members to thank them for their much-valued service to nursing.

The RCN also said it is “incredibly proud” to have the Queen as its patron.

The letter – signed by Chair of RCN Council Professor Kath McCourt, President Andrea Spyropoulos and Chief Executive & General Secretary Dr Peter Carter – congratulated the Queen on her jubilee on behalf of the College and its 410,000 members.
