Nominations open for RCN in Wales Nurse of the Year Awards
Published: 07 May 2013
RCN members are being encouraged to nominate their colleagues in this year’s RCN in Wales Nurse of the Year Awards.
Set up to demonstrate the value of nursing and honour best practice within the nursing community in Wales, there are 14 awards categories this year. In addition to the monetary reward and a trophy for category winners, the overall winner will receive the accolade of becoming RCN in Wales Nurse of the Year for 2013. A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented at the awards ceremony.
Christine Thomas, Chair of the RCN Welsh Board and Council Member for Wales, said the awards are about recognising and rewarding the significant, essential and invaluable contribution that nursing staff make to health care. “I urge you all to nominate a nurse or health care assistant based in Wales who you feel deserves recognition for their work. It is a great way to acknowledge all the fantastic work carried out by nurses and health care assistants in Wales.”
The RCN in Wales Nurse of the Year awards ceremony and gala dinner will be held on 27 November in Cardiff.
