Safer sharps events to take place in March

The Royal College of Nursing is encouraging members to attend demonstration days designed to raise awareness and understanding of the implementation of the Safer Sharps Directive.

As a result of lobbying by various bodies, including the RCN, the EU Directive 2010/32/EU was adopted in May 2010.

The demonstration days have been set up by the NHS Supply Chain, in conjunction with the RCN, HSE, HPA and the NHS Confederation and will be of particular interest to infection contol nurses, occupational health nurses, RCN safety representatives and those who make purchasing decisions. If you would like to attend one of the events, register through the NHS Supply Chain website. Spaces are limited to 50 per event and are on a first come, first serve basis.
