Second Facebook Q&A on pensions

Published: 06 February 2012

A second question and answer session on the Government’s proposed changes to the NHS pension scheme took place on the Royal College of Nursing’s Facebook page on Tuesday 7 February .

The hour-long session was in response to the success of the first Q&A on the Facebook page, held on Friday 3 February. The sessions were held to help members find out more about the Government’s proposed changes to the NHS pension scheme.

The RCN’s Senior Employment Relations Adviser Gerry O’Dwyer was on hand to help members understand the proposals, and what they could mean for them.

The College is asking members whether they want the RCN to accept or reject the Government’s “final offer” on pension reform.

Voting papers were sent to all RCN members, except those who are already retired, throughout the course of last week. Members can respond by post, online or by phone by 4pm on 27 February; and RCN Council will discuss the result in a special meeting a day later.

Visit the RCN’s Facebook page to read the Q&As.
