Published: 13 May 2009
Baroness Valerie Amos, Chair of the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue appeal, has announced that the shortlist of artists hoping to be chosen to work on the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue has now been narrowed down to two. The two artists are Martin Jennings and Bill Woodrow.
Baroness Amos said:
"Our final two artists Martin Jennings and Bill Woodrow have outstanding reputations and wonderful examples of their work can be seen in the UK and elsewhere. I look forward to the next stage and in due course, to the erection of a fitting memorial to Mary Seacole in London."
Both artists will be interviewed again before a final selection is made in June.
