Your feedback needed on integrated care
Published: 18 January 2013
The Royal College of Nursing is encouraging members to respond to the National Voices consultation on defining integrated care.
Laura Clarke, from the RCN Policy and International Department, said that because of the roles that nursing staff undertake, their feedback was vital.
“As care co-ordinators, nursing staff often work at the interface of health and social care systems. Their care and clinical expertise means they are uniquely placed to understand the holistic needs of patients and therefore anticipate gaps in the care system throughout the patient journey. Your views are therefore critical in developing ways to deliver integrated care consistently throughout the NHS,” she said.
The consultation was commissioned by the NHS Commissioning Board.
