Cardiff and the Vale Children's Day

Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust celebrated Children’s Rights day last month with four days of fun activities including visits from the Children’s Commissioner for Wales Keith Towler and players from Cardiff City Football Club.
The four days of activities included t-shirt printing, making banners, and even hand printing for babies, all inspired by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The events focused on the need to consider children and young people’s views when decisions involving them are made.
RCN member Linda Hughes-Jones, Lead Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Young People, said: “We aim to provide the highest standards of care for all children who receive treatment from us throughout the Trust, and this includes making them aware that they have rights as patients, as children and as young people living in their community.”
