Eileen Rees Memorial Fund

Eileen Mary Rees OBE, FRCN was one of the outstanding advocates and ambassadors for nurses in the UK. She was a gifted nurse who displayed remarkable leadership and whose primary concern was always the improvement of patient care through the promotion of high standards of professional practice.

Eileen was a member of RCN Wales and served as the Chair of RCN UK Council from 1961-1964. She was awarded an OBE in 1968 and was also awarded a well deserved RCN Honorary Fellowship.

In memory of Eileen Rees, family and friends have donated £300 which will be used for a one off award. This award is open to any nurse in Wales who can demonstrate that they have had an article published that relates to sharing an innovation that they have introduced to improve patient care. A judging panel will be convened to review the relative merits of the articles submitted and decide which entrant should be awarded the personal award of £300.00.
