RCN in Wales welcomes new Minister for Health and Social Care for Wales

The Royal College of Nursing in Wales commented on the Welsh Government Cabinet reshuffle.

Tina Donnelly TD DL CCMI, Director of the Royal College of Nursing in Wales, said: "The RCN in Wales is very pleased with the appointment of Mark Drakeford AM as the new Health and Social Care Minister. These are very challenging times facing the health service in Wales. The RCN has had a productive relationship with Mark Drakeford in his previous role as Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee and we look forward to building on this during his time in office.

She added: "We look forward to meeting with the Health Minister in the near future, welcoming him and we would urge him to listen carefully to the concerns of the nursing workforce on improving our health care delivery system. We wish Lesley Griffiths AM all the best in her new role as Minister for Local Government."
