Health care workers invited to Coventry Conference

Published: 09 August 2012

For the fourth year running, the Royal College of Nursing has joined forces with the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) to host a Healthcare Support Worker Conference on Thursday 11 October 2012.

The event, which is being held in the Clinical Sciences Building at UHCW from 9am until 4.15pm, will see health care support workers from across the region taking part in interactive workshops about nutrition, mental health, learning disabilities and end of life care, while dedicated speakers will talk about human rights in health care.

Paul Vaughan, RCN Regional Director for the West Midlands, said: “Over the last three years this conference has proven to be a great success, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to work with UHCW again.

“This conference is the perfect opportunity for local health care support workers to learn from experienced health care experts and develop their skills and knowledge, while it’s also a great opportunity to network with their colleagues from across the West Midlands.

“We’re already expecting a great turnout, but there are still places available for any health care support workers who want to come along. It’s free for all delegates and open to both RCN members and non-members.”
