Two nurses from the region have been recognised for their contribution to black and ethnic minority (BME) communities in an awards ceremony hosted by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and others in October.

Olwyn Lidster from Bradford District Care Trust and Dr Gloria Likupe from the University of Hull were two of six people to receive Mary Seacole Leadership and Development Awards at a ceremony held at the UNISON headquarters in London on Tuesday 16 October and attended by Health Minister, Dr Dan Poulter MP, employers and trade union representatives.
