Nursing innovations praised at Sheffield Children's Hospital

Director of Service Delivery and Nursing for the Royal College of Nursing Janet Davies visited Sheffield Children's Hospital on 2 November.
Infection Control Nurse Julie Austin and Matron Margaret October led the visit with a tour of the Theatre Admissions Unit and the Research and Medical Treatment Lounge.
The group of visitors also included Regional Director of the RCN Kevin Austerberry and RCN Officer John Baston.
Janet Davies said: “This was a very rewarding visit with an opportunity to learn about the significant role that nursing staff at Sheffield Children’s Hospital are playing in developing innovative services for children and their families and carers. The Royal College of Nursing is always keen to support members involved in this sort of initiative, drawing on a wealth of expertise and learning resources.”
