RCN joins NHS Together National Day of Action

Published: 24 August 2007

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is taking part in the NHS Together alliance National Day of Action on Saturday, 3 March 2007. A series of events will take place in regions across England to protest at Government actions over NHS deficits and the pace of reform.

Dr Peter Carter, General Secretary of the RCN, said: “This will be local action with a national impact. It is a great opportunity for nurses to speak out about what is happening in the NHS, and to make their voices heard in their region. We are urging nurses to support the event and join their NHS colleagues to show that NHS workers are united, and a force that cannot be ignored.”

More details about the day will be released in the near future. RCN members who would like to take part should contact their local RCN office for further information, or see the NHS Together website at www.tuc.org.uk.
