RCN responds to publication of Health Visitors review
Published: 24 August 2007
Responding to today’s publication of the report 'Facing the future, A review of the role of health visitors' RCN General Secretary Peter Carter said:
“The RCN welcomes the clear direction for a modernised health visiting service outlined in this report.
“We hope that the Primary Care Trusts will now take heed of its recommendations and strengthen the contribution of health visiting to local child health promotion and health visiting resources through greater investment in training and development.
“I urge PCT’s who will use this report to review their health visitor services to take this as an opportunity to improve, not as an excuse to make cuts to, a valuable part of the nursing workforce”
