Notes to Editors
The European Federation of Nurses Associations was originally formed as the Standing Committee of Nurses of the EU in 1971. Through its membership the EFN represents nurses from 29 countries and is the independent voice of the nursing profession in Europe.
The European Federation of Nurses Associations’ role includes representing members' views to EU institutions and bodies; providing a platform for the development of nursing in Europe and working with other international nursing groups, health associations and bodies, e.g. the International Council of Nurses (ICN) and the World Health Organisation.
