RCN comments on departure of Dickon Weir-Hughes

Following news that the Chief Executive & Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Professor Dickon Weir-Hughes is to resign with immediate effect, Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Chief Executive & General Secretary, Dr Peter Carter, said:

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish Dickon well for the future and to express my thanks for his work during his tenure at the NMC. This is a crucial time for the regulator, and I would also like to express my hope that a permanent successor can be found swiftly.”
