RCN members celebrate Manchester Pride

Up to 50 members of the Royal College of Nursing joined thousands at Manchester Pride 2008, last Saturday 23 August 2008, to celebrate diversity in the healthcare system.
Janet Davies, Executive Director of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), said:
“The RCN’s participation in this great event over the past three years was testament to our commitment to celebrating the diversity of our members, who work tirelessly across the NHS and independent sector to deliver quality care to patients.
“This year, RCN members highlighted our Dignity Campaign and Think Positive Campaign, which is about raising awareness of the needs of people living with HIV and ending the stigma surrounding the disease in the general community.
“Manchester Pride was an opportunity to recognise our members, who are lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender and celebrate their contribution to in the healthcare system.”
