Published: 24 March 2009
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has been awarded £300,000 from the Union Learning Fund, for a new two year project starting in April 2009. The new project will focus on delivering learning and development opportunities for learning representatives.
Dr Peter Carter, RCN Chief Executive & General Secretary, said:
"I am delighted that the work the RCN has done with unionlearn in delivering projects over the last ten years can continue, and that we have been able to secure this further funding of £300,000. This funding is a vote of confidence in our activities to ensure that learning representatives have access to the best learning and development opportunities.
"The new project focuses on delivering new opportunities to learning representatives on the ground, such as working in partnership with employers, and this will benefit our members significantly. I am delighted that we will be continuing to work in partnership with unionlearn and look forward to more successful projects in the future."
