RCN pays tribute to Jill Crawford, outgoing NMC President
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) today thanked the outgoing President of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Jill Crawford, for her work and the progress that has been made reforming the nursing regulator.
Dr Peter Carter, RCN Chief Executive & General Secretary, said:
“I would like to pay tribute to the work that Jill Crawford and her team have done in reforming the NMC. Jill took charge after a difficult period, and has provided strong and dedicated leadership to enable the council to deliver its action plan.
“We welcome the progress that has been made in providing clear governance arrangements, better work with stakeholders and fitness to practice. However there is still a great deal to be achieved to protect patient safety and restore public confidence, and we would urge the new NMC Council to keep moving forward with these reforms – patients deserve nothing less.”
