RCN says that rejection of increment freeze proposal is the "only logical outcome"
Responding to proposals from NHS Employers to freeze incremental pay for NHS staff in England, Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Chief Executive & General Secretary, Dr Peter Carter, said:
"Our members have been telling us loud and clear that they are angry about the proposal, that it won’t work and that it is divisive. The RCN has led the way in a wide consultation with members who have spoken up. I have said clearly that the proposal as it stands is ill thought-out and enough is enough. RCN Council meets next week to take a formal decision on the proposal. Council members are certain to want to reflect the voice of members and rejection is the only logical outcome.”
