Authorised to provide immigration advice and services by the Immigration Services Commissioner

We provide a free and confidential immigration advice and representation service to overseas nurses, overseas nursing students and overseas health care support workers.

The appointment-based service is available to those in RCN membership or expressing a clear intention to join the RCN, once eligible. What we offer
Our Immigration Advisers are authorised by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) to provide immigration advice and services on:

  • student visas
  • marriage applications
  • dependant visas
  • indefinite leave to remain
  • common law/same sex relationship visas
  • working holiday visas
  • visit visas
  • nationality and British citizenship
  • work permits.

Appeals and visa applications

However, we do not provide representation or funding for immigration appeals and cases will be referred to other OISC regulated immigration services. We also cannot give advice on visa applications for countries outside the UK.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is central to the service we offer, which adheres to the Code of Standards of the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC). Any information concerning clients of the service, including whether or not they have contacted the service, will remain confidential to the service. No information will be passed to any outside organisation or individual, or to other staff or members of the RCN, without the client's specific request or explicit permission to do so.

A copy of the RCN Immigration Advice Service Confidentiality Policy is available, on request from the RCN Immigration Advice Service.
